New Daikin app, cloud and API

Daikin has released a new Daikin App for Altherma and NDJ (gas boilers) products from the end of March 2020. Upgrades to this app will allow customers to control all Daikin home units. As a result, the user will not need several different apps, depending on the type of unit, but will be able to control heating and air conditioning units with just one app.

A new cloud and a new cloud API are being released alongside the new app. The new "cloud" is built with modern technology and is ready to be extended to more connected devices in the future.

The Cloud API will provide connectivity to third-party stakeholders such as voice control and home automation. Compared to the old "Heating App", the new control has the following new features:

Control from anywhere, as the app is always connected to the cloud.
Control of Altherma units operating with fixed temperature or weather-controlled only.
Support for multi-unit, multi-site systems.
Simplified cloud API for third-party support.
One-time login only = one account and password for all Daikin devices.
